Learning Environment

Our school promotes a positive learning environent for students by implementing a variety of programs practices. Exemplary behavior is recognized with positive comments, awards, stickers, public recognition, certificates and Hamilton High Five tickets. These tickets are given out for good classwork, good behavior, excellent effort, being helpful and kind and being a good model of the Hamilton High Five rules. Counselors provide opportunities for students to learn good work habits, develop problem-solving skills, resolve conflicts, and enhance self-esteem.

Class Size

Due to budget cuts in Education funding, 20:1 is no longer being implemented in any grade level. Currently, the formula for class sizes in grades K-3 is 24:1 and in grades 4 and 5 it is 32:1.

The mixture of cultures and languages of our students results in diverse classrooms and additional opportunities for learning, teamwork and appreciation of one another.
